Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Visualfiles Developer to join our team. Based from one of our seven offices, or fully remotely, you will be reporting to our DevOps Manager and joining a team of 6 Developers. We are open to hearing from candidates who are starting their careers, or from individuals who have previous experience in Visualfiles development.

Most of our people choose to work in a hybrid fashion, working from home and attending our offices on occasion. Our offices are in Bristol, Birmingham, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton, and Taunton.

As an IT Developer you will:

  • Create well crafted, scalable and resilient solutions used by all employees of the Firm.
  • Own the delivery of IT systems into the firm, ensuring a smooth integration.
  • Participate in sprint planning to deliver regular iterations.
  • Provide 3rd tier support to resolve issues with our line of business systems.
  • Monitor application performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to improve reliability and scalability.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards, data protection regulations, and promote best practices for software development.
  • Collaborate with users to clarify requirements and take corrective action for issues.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps to drive innovation and enhance the firm’s technological capabilities.

This role is right for you if:

A minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a similar IT role (ideally in the Legal sector) is essential for this role.

  • Experience of workflow development is essential, particularly VisualFiles, Sharepoint, or the Microsoft Power Platform and C# and SQL skills would be a distinct advantage.
  • The role is wide ranging and you will be working with Sharepoint, SSRS, Azure Devops, Practice Management (Elite 3E), CRM (Interacton), DMS (iManage), all operating in a Microsoft environment.
  • Support or development knowledge of any of these products (or equivalent) would be particularly helpful.
  • You will need to be organised and proactive, with a can-do attitude, able to multitask and thrive under pressure. You will always be looking for ways to improve systems and have ideas for solving problems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential to interact with stakeholders and senior management effectively.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and regulatory requirements is crucial for an IT Developer in a law firm setting.
