As a Night Shift Traffic Clerk, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our transport services.

THE ROLE
Working alongside the depot management and operational teams, you will help coordinate daily transport activity and ensure drivers receive accurate route and delivery information. You will communicate regularly with drivers, customers, warehouse colleagues and other departments to help ensure collections and deliveries are completed efficiently while maintaining an excellent level of customer service.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the planning, organisation and monitoring of daily transport operations
- Provide drivers with accurate route, collection and delivery information
- Monitor key customer deliveries and provide timely ETA updates
- Record and communicate delays, delivery issues and operational changes
- Ensure daily collection requirements are completed
- Assist with driver debriefs and performance monitoring
- Maintain an accurate flow of information between the traffic office and warehouse
- Prepare reports and spreadsheets for internal departments and customers
- Communicate clearly and professionally with drivers, colleagues and customers
- Support compliance with Working Time Directive, drivers’ hours and relevant health and safety requirements
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and customer service
- Complete general administrative duties associated with the traffic operation

Previous experience within a transport, traffic or logistics environment would be beneficial.

PAY AND BENEFITS
- £13.69 per hour
- Monday to Friday working
- 20 days’ annual leave plus eight statutory bank holidays
- One additional day of annual leave for each completed year after four years’ service, up to a maximum of five additional days
- Full uniform and PPE provided
