Hours: 40 Hours per Week Monday to Friday + occasional Saturday mornings

The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Warehouse Supervisor / Traffic Clerk to support the day-to-day running of our Basildon operation. This is a dual operational role combining warehouse supervision with traffic coordination. You will lead a small deckworker team while ensuring drivers are effectively briefed, routes are communicated, and outbound operations run safely, efficiently, and on time. This role suits someone who is organised, proactive, and confident managing both people and logistics in a fast-paced transport environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the Deckworker team to ensure efficient loading and outbound flow
- Ensure goods are received, stored, and dispatched accurately and within deadlines
- Brief drivers on routes, loads, and delivery schedules, and conduct debriefs
- Monitor operations using internal systems to maintain control and communication
- Maintain accurate stock control and inventory tracking
- Carry out quality assurance checks, reporting damage or discrepancies
- Escalate operational issues promptly to management for resolution
- Liaise with customers regarding deliveries and service updates
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment
- Report any equipment or vehicle defects immediately
- Conduct operational reviews and audits, identifying improvements
- Produce warehouse and deck performance metrics where required
- Work closely with drivers and operational teams to reduce risk and improve service delivery
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in warehouse supervision, logistics, or traffic office roles
- Strong organisation and communication skills
- Ability to lead from the front with a hands-on approach
- Experience working in a transport / logistics environment (preferred)
- Good understanding of health & safety and operational standards
- Confidence using IT systems for tracking and reporting
