We are currently seeking a Warehouse Operative / Storeman to support a large-scale, 3-year electrical upgrade project. This role involves the physical breakdown of pallets of stock, distribution to cages, and ensuring smooth operations for the storage and distribution of mechanical and electrical materials. This is a physically demanding role, with the site spread out across various areas - some locations can require up to a 30-minute walk, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable with the physical demands of the job.
Key Responsibilities:- Material Management: Oversee the receipt, storage, and distribution of mechanical/electrical parts, tools, and equipment.
- Stock Control: Ensure all materials and components are stored correctly, and easily accessible, while maintaining accurate stock records and updating inventory systems.
- Team Coordination: Work closely with site managers, engineers, and suppliers to ensure the timely availability of required materials.
- Stock Checks: Conduct regular stock checks and maintain appropriate stock levels.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure that all components meet required specifications and quality standards.
- Health & Safety: Comply with workplace health and safety regulations at all times.
- Waste Management: Coordinate the disposal or return of unused materials as necessary.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Storeman or in a similar role.
- Inventory Management: Ability to manage stock control systems and maintain accurate records.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Health & Safety Awareness: Knowledge of relevant health & safety regulations related to mechanical equipment and materials handling.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic inventory management systems.
