About the role:
We are seeking to recruit a Senior HR Advisor to join our HR team to cover a period of upcoming maternity leave. We expect the contract will be in place for approx. 12-14 months. We are open to considering both part-time and full-time applications for this role. The purpose of this role is to provide support to the business to ensure that productivity is maximised through the effectiveness of our employees. Responsibilities cover a wide range of activities but at the core is recruitment, employee performance, health and wellbeing, training and development, compensation, benefits and employment law compliance.

Responsibilities
- Support the Talent Acquisition Specialist and wider HR team during peak recruitment periods, including responsibility for the full recruitment process from employee requisition through to compiling offers and issuing contracts of employment for a number of open vacancies. Ensuring all vacancies are advertised through internal procedures, keeping the website up to date and liaising with 3rd party recruitment agencies.
- Support the recruitment strategy and aim to reduce recruitment spend by utilising cost-effective methods of recruitment i.e. LinkedIn, job boards, promoting referrals.
- Coordinate the annual recruitment of apprentices working in conjunction with Technical Training.
- Be the HR Lead on apprenticeships within the UK and Ireland, including liaising with and sourcing new colleges, development of new apprenticeship programs, monitoring and tracking performance of apprentices, evaluating the success of each scheme, coordination of the annual residential team building events, support for annual apprentice week, and managing the apprenticeship levy for Clarke Energy.
- Provide an advisory service to employees ensuring that they are fully aware of their rights and entitlements.
- Work in partnership with line managers on performance management, employee relations, and resourcing.
- Support HR Manager with disciplinary, grievance, and capability investigations and hearings.
- Manage long-term employee absence to support employees and help return to work where appropriate.
- Keep personnel files up to date, ensuring any correspondence is filed promptly and accurately using Natural HR.
- Ensure exit interviews are conducted in the absence of the HR Advisor.
- Adhere to company procedures in relation to salary increases, department transfers, etc.
- Prepare the board report and monthly KPI’s.
- Support the HR strategy with involvement in any HR projects which are underway.
- Support the HR team and help develop other team members by sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Coordinate and facilitate ‘lunch and learn’ sessions with management and/or employees on key topics or areas of focus.
- Create and update people policies and procedures, ensuring they are family-friendly.
- Create an employer brand and recruit to key positions.
- Support workforce planning by identifying skill gaps and collaborating on recruitment strategies.
- Drive initiatives for employee retention, career development, and succession planning.
- Support organisational change initiatives, including restructuring, mergers, or process improvement.
- Seek to develop Natural HR and Workday to ensure we are getting the most from the system and using it in the best way to support the business.
Essential
- CIPD Level 5 qualified.
- Excellent administrative skills.
- Generalist HR experience within an HR environment.
- Experience of working with and advising line managers.
- Confidence to work across all levels of the business.
- Previous experience of using an HR system.
- Excellent IT skills, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
