About the Apprenticeship
This structured 4‑year programme combines hands‑on technical training with academic study. You will work alongside experienced Field Service Engineers to develop the mechanical, electrical and diagnostic skills needed to maintain gas engines and generator sets across a wide range of customer sites. You’ll gain valuable real‑world experience, industry‑recognised qualifications and the foundations of a rewarding long‑term career.
What You Will Do
- Support our Field Service Engineers with routine servicing, fault‑finding, strip‑downs and rebuilds of gas‑fuelled engines and ancillary equipment.
- Assist with mechanical and electrical breakdown call‑outs under supervision.
- Learn to uphold Clarke Energy’s high standards of customer service, personal presentation and site housekeeping.
- Complete all college‑based learning and coursework in line with the apprenticeship timetable.
- Work safely at all times, following all company Health, Safety & Environmental procedures.
- Carry out additional tasks that support your development and the needs of the Field Service Team.
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum 5 GCSEs (A–C / 4–9) including Maths, English and Science (or equivalent).
- Genuine interest in engineering, demonstrated through hobbies, projects or work experience.
- Good IT and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel and occasionally work unsociable hours or stay away from home when required.
- Currently undertaking driving lessons.
- Engineering‑related work experience or school placement.
- Full UK driving licence.
