Clarke Energy is looking for an Overhaul & Repair Engineer to join our expert team, carrying out major overhauls and repairs on Jenbacher gas engines. This is a hands‑on role for a skilled professional who takes pride in precision engineering and wants to contribute to world‑class power generation performance.
About the Role
As an Overhaul & Repair Engineer, you will play a key role in the full mechanical overhaul and repair of reciprocating gas engines. Working both independently and as part of a dedicated workshop team, you'll ensure engines are restored to optimum condition in line with schedules, technical standards, and safety requirements. The role will be part of our Overhaul & Repair Team and your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on engine reliability for customers right across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out mechanical rebuilds of reciprocating gas engines, including full strip‑down and reassembly
- Identify, assess and report faults discovered during disassembly and repair
- Request required parts from stock and ensure efficient use of components
- Complete all documentation accurately and on time, ensuring clear, traceable records
Teamwork & Supervision
- Work collaboratively as part of the Overhaul & Repair team
- Supervise semi‑skilled staff and apprentices involved in overhauls
- Maintain positive working relationships and contribute to a supportive workshop environment
Health, Safety & Environment
- Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and safe working practices
- Apply strong understanding of manual handling and workshop safety requirements
- Keep all work areas clean, tidy and compliant with internal standards

- Background as an HGV mechanic, engine reconditioner, or heavy plant mechanic
