Are you a technically minded sales professional with a passion for developing high‑quality customer proposals? Clarke Energy is seeking a Sales & Proposals Engineer to support the growth of our aftermarket business by preparing compelling, accurate and commercially competitive proposals that meet customer requirements. This is a key customer‑facing role, working closely with engineering, service and commercial teams to convert opportunities into winning bids.
You will play a central part in shaping our tender responses, identifying upgrade opportunities and ensuring our customers receive clear, professional and technically robust proposals.
Job Purpose
To consolidate service offers, technical information and upgrade opportunities into clear, accurate and competitive bids for Clarke Energy’s aftermarket product portfolio. The majority of your time will be spent attending customer meetings, clarifying technical requirements, generating conversions/modifications/upgrades (CMU) opportunities, preparing detailed proposals and maintaining accurate commercial data.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
- Customer engagement and opportunity development
- Attend customer meetings to understand technical needs, identify opportunities and position Clarke Energy aftermarket solutions.
- Maintain proactive communication with customers regarding proposal progress, clarifications and next steps.
- Preparing high‑quality proposals and tenders
- Prepare clear, accurate and detailed proposals for conversions, modifications and upgrades with minimal support.
- Build and deliver service tenders and bespoke scope packages for the Clarke Energy product range.
- Develop end‑to‑end proposals including scope development, competitive pricing, documentation and submission.
- Coordinate responses to Invitation to Tender (ITT) documents, ensuring high‑quality and timely submissions.
- Internal collaboration and information management
- Work closely with engineering, service delivery, projects and other internal teams to gather and validate technical content.
- Prepare thorough handover documentation when orders are received, supporting a smooth transition to project delivery.
- Maintain proposal filing structures, tender logs and commercial databases to enable accurate reporting.
- Commercial analysis and reporting
- Use the maintenance pricing model to prepare accurate and competitive pricing.
- Track quotation status, conversion rates and provide updates to the Commercial Manager.
- Produce monthly sales/proposal reports to support forecasting and pipeline planning.
- Compliance and quality
- Ensure all proposals adhere to Clarke Energy’s Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality requirements.

- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Confident communication skills with the ability to attend customer meetings independently.
- Degree or HND in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Understanding of engineering principles and familiarity with service operations.
- Familiarity with Jenbacher or MWM engine platforms.
