Clarke Energy is looking for a HR Coordinator to join our UK & Ireland HR team on a fixed‑term maternity cover. Based at our Liverpool / Knowsley head office, this role offers the chance to play a vital part in supporting our people and ensuring a positive, well‑run employee experience during a key period.
As HR Coordinator, you’ll work closely with the HR Advisor and Senior HR Advisor to deliver a responsive, high‑quality HR service across the business. You’ll be involved across the full employee lifecycle, from welcoming new starters on day one to supporting leavers with care and professionalism. This is a hands‑on, fast‑paced role suited to someone who enjoys getting involved, spotting opportunities to improve processes, and being a trusted point of contact for employees and managers alike. You’ll need to be confident and capable from the outset, bringing previous HR experience and a genuine interest in supporting people.
Key Responsibilities- Manage probation review processes for new starters, ensuring contractual changes are applied accurately.
- Deliver engaging and well‑organised HR inductions, helping new colleagues feel welcomed and informed from day one.
- Support employees throughout their time with the business, providing clear guidance and assistance.
- Manage the leaver process end‑to‑end, including conducting exit interviews and capturing meaningful feedback.
- Produce visa support letters when required and coordinate work experience placements.
- Ensure Workday is used as the single source of truth for onboarding, changes, promotions and leavers.
- Produce HR reports and keep company organisation charts up to date.
- Collate and provide payroll information for weekly and monthly payroll cycles.
- Support pension auto‑enrolment for new starters and manage annual pension change windows.
- Ensure company benefits such as YuLife and Westfield Health are accurately maintained.
- Manage the holiday buy and sell scheme.
- Support reward and recognition initiatives, including vouchers, spot bonuses and long‑service awards.
- Assist with health and wellbeing activities across the business.
- Contribute to internal communications, including creating a monthly employee newsletter and supporting Group communications where needed.
- Previous experience working in an HR environment is essential.
- Practical experience in a busy administrative role, ideally within HR.
- Experience using HR information systems (Natural HR and/or Workday advantageous).
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Confident, clear written and verbal communication skills.
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs (A–C or equivalent).
- A supportive, approachable professional who enjoys helping others.
- Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Discreet, trustworthy, and able to handle sensitive information with care.
- Keen to learn, improve processes, and contribute positively to team culture.
