Join Clarke Energy as a SHEQ Manager. Are you an experienced HSE professional committed to creating a best-in-class safety culture? Clarke Energy is looking for a Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) Manager to help guide and strengthen our safety and compliance standards across the UK. This hands-on role, based at our Knowsley Headquarters, will see you work closely with colleagues across the business to improve systems, maintain compliance, and support a safe and effective working environment.

About the Role: As SHEQ Manager, you’ll play a central role in upholding and developing our health, safety, environmental, and quality management systems. Beyond compliance, you’ll foster a culture where careful planning, open communication, and shared responsibility are the norm. You’ll be based in Knowsley, with responsibility for supporting project sites across the UK.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Maintain and improve ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 9001 systems
  • Lead internal and external audits
  • Represent Clarke Energy during client and regulatory inspections
  • Ensure legal compliance across safety, health, and environmental standards
  • Manage incident reporting and lead follow-up investigations
  • Prepare clear, timely reports for the leadership team
  • Deliver toolbox talks, staff inductions, and safety bulletins
  • Collaborate with HR to coordinate training
  • Lead safety meetings and oversee First Aid and Fire Marshall duties
  • Keep risk assessments, COSHH records, and safety files up to date
  • Manage PPE requirements and supplier assessments
  • Support client pre-qualification processes

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • 5+ years in a similar SHEQ or HSE management role
  • Chartered IOSH status
  • Degree and diploma in occupational health and safety
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001 and 45001
  • Confident with report writing and IT systems
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • CDM experience
  • Lead Auditor certification
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and quality assurance
  • Background in engineering or project delivery
