Location: UK and Ireland
Job Purpose: To provide a Commissioning function for new or refurbished engine, generator, balance of plant or new technology and provide technical support for the UK regions.

Scope: As a Service Department, the main function is to maintain and support gas powered generation plants, whether that is Power Generation only, Combined Heat & Power or Tri‑generation. We have the technical expertise to support the complete Jenbacher gas engine product portfolio and associated balance of plant.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Carry out engine, generator, balance of plant and new technology commissioning.
- Provide a high level of technical support to the UK regions and Area Service Managers, undertaking mechanical and electrical troubleshooting to minimise engine downtime.
- Provide mobile and flexible field service support where and when required.
- Ensure that commissioning and field service support work is seen through to completion and to the required standards of quality.
- Document service visits using field service/commissioning management software and complete commissioning documentation, in accordance with agreed standards of reporting.
- Train inexperienced engineers and customers on new and recommissioned plant as and when required.
- Liaise with Commissioning and Field Service Support manager, Product Support Manager, and other internal departments to gather and share relevant information to assist in the process of problem‑solving, and effective decision making.
- Communicate with customers, Area Service Managers, Product Support Manager and Commissioning and Field Service Support Manager ensuring that all parties are kept fully informed in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Observe and follow Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and regulations including any customer site requirements.
Requirements:
- High level of technical skill with extensive service engineering or commissioning experience for gas engines, generators and balance of plant equipment.
- Excellent power generation service/commissioning knowledge.
- High level of fault finding and fault rectification ability.
- Ability to communicate well with colleagues, customers and contractors.
- Willing to travel extensively and work away from home.
- Effective in managing time and workload and prepared to work under own initiative.
- Consistently professional and reliable.
- Positive approach to work and ability to use own initiative.
- High voltage authorised.
