This is a hands-on role for a skilled professional who takes pride in precision engineering and wants to contribute to world-class power generation performance.**About the Role**As an Overhaul & Repair Engineer, you will play a key role in the full mechanical overhaul and repair of reciprocating gas engines. Working both independently and as part of a dedicated workshop team, you'll ensure engines are restored to optimum condition in line with schedules, technical standards, and safety requirements.Your work will have a direct and meaningful impact on engine reliability for customers across the UK.**Key Responsibilities****Engine Overhaul & Repair*** Carry out mechanical rebuilds of reciprocating gas engines, including full strip-down and reassembly* Identify, assess and report faults discovered during disassembly and repair* Request required parts from stock and ensure efficient use of components* Complete all documentation accurately and on time, ensuring clear, traceable records**Teamwork & Supervision*** Work collaboratively as part of the Overhaul & Repair team* Supervise semi-skilled staff and apprentices involved in overhauls* Maintain positive working relationships and contribute to a supportive workshop environment**Health, Safety & Environment*** Follow all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and safe working practices* Apply strong understanding of manual handling and workshop safety requirements* Keep all work areas clean, tidy and compliant with internal standards**What We're Looking For****Technical Skills*** High standard of engine knowledge and technical understanding* Proven experience completing full engine rebuilds and major overhauls* Strong appreciation of safe working practices**Personal Attributes**We're looking for someone who is:* Trustworthy, professional and reliable* Hardworking, organised and able to manage workload independently* Committed to producing work of the highest standard* A good communicator with a positive, team-focused approach* A natural problem-solver who thinks tasks through and takes responsibility**Qualifications & Experience****Essential*** Time-served mechanical engineer *or* extensive engine rebuild experience* Experience of major overhauls on reciprocating engines* Full UK driving licence**Desirable*** On-site experience carrying out in-situ repairs or overhauls on reciprocating gas engines* Background as an HGV mechanic, engine reconditioner, or heavy plant mechanic* Competitive hourly rate* 25 days' annual leave plus 8 Bank Holidays* Holiday buy and sell scheme (up to 5 additional days)* 7% company pension contribution* All tools and equipment provided and maintained to a high standard* Comprehensive training programme on Jenbacher engines and systems delivered at our Liverpool Training Centre* Opportunities to develop your engine rebuild expertise within a highly skilled overhaul team* The backing of a respected, globally recognised energy solutions business with a strong culture of safety, technical excellence and continuous improvementIf you're a skilled engineer with a passion for precision engine work and want to be part of a respected global energy business, we'd love to hear from you.Clarke proudly offers a rich history steeped in creativity and commitment to our associates and communities, along with competitive benefits and compensation.
