Overview
A knowledge and detail-oriented Grid Compliance Engineer to join the engineering team.
Responsible for ensuring projects meet grid code requirements and comply with relevant regulatory and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure all designs and installations comply with applicable grid codes, standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support grid connection applications, including G99/G100 processes and associated documentation.
- Review and interpret grid compliance requirements and translate them into engineering deliverables.
- Liaise with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), Transmission System Operators (TSOs) and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate and support grid compliance studies, including load flow, fault level and protection studies.
- Assist in the preparation and review of technical documentation, including compliance reports and test procedures.
- Support commissioning activities, including grid compliance testing and validation.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with grid connection and compliance.
- Keep up to date with changes in grid codes, industry standards and best practice.
About You
- Technically capable engineer with strong analytical skills and a good understanding of grid connection requirements within the power or energy sector.
Qualifications
β’ Essential
- Experience in grid compliance, power systems or electrical engineering.
- Understanding of UK grid codes and connection processes (e. g. G99, G100).
- Ability to interpret technical standards and apply them in a practical engineering context.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A methodical approach with a high level of attention to detail.
β’ Desirable
- Experience working with DNOs, TSOs or within the energy/power generation sector.
- Familiarity with power system analysis tools (e. g. DIg SILENT, ETAP or similar).
- Knowledge of protection systems and control schemes.
- Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
