About Clarke & Carter
Clarke & Carter is one of the UK’s longest‑established and most respected yacht brokerages, known for deep industry expertise, exceptional customer service and an ever changing portfolio of new and used sailing and motor yachts. We have two offices on the E Coast selling over 200 boats a year. We are main dealers for Jeanneau sail and Quicksilver for the E Coast with more brands being announced in the very near future.
We are now seeking an experienced Yacht Broker to join our team and contribute to the continued growth of our brokerage operations.
Role Overview
As a Yacht Broker, you will be responsible for managing the full sales cycle of new and pre‑owned yachts, from initial enquiry through to completion. You’ll work closely with buyers and sellers, provide expert guidance, and represent Clarke & Carter with professionalism and enthusiasm. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a client‑facing environment, understands the marine market and enjoys building long‑term relationships within the boating community.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a large portfolio of brokerage listings, including valuations, photography, specifications, and marketing.
- Conduct viewings, sea trials, and client meetings with professionalism and confidence.
- Negotiate sales, prepare documentation and oversee transactions through to completion.
- Provide advice to buyers on all aspects of boat ownership.
- Sell new Jeanneau sailing yachts and Quicksilver motorboats, guiding customers through the full new‑boat purchase process from enquiry to handover.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, marinas, surveyors, and industry partners.
- Represent Clarke & Carter at boat shows in the UK.
- Ensure all listings and client interactions meet the high standards of the company.
- Contribute to the growth of the brokerage through proactive lead generation and networking.
- Support the MD with social media content generation.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience as a Yacht Broker or in a similar marine sales role.
- Strong knowledge of sailing yachts, motor yachts and the wider marine industry.
- Excellent communication, negotiation skills and customer service.
- Ability to manage multiple listings and clients simultaneously.
- Confident working independently and as part of a small, highly collaborative team.
- Competent IT skills, including CRM systems and online listing platforms.
- A valid driving licence; RYA qualifications or boating experience are highly advantageous.
