Job Description

Our client has unparalleled international experience in infrastructure projects, bridges, highways, tunnels, dams and marine works.

As a result of a significant award in the Aberdeen area they are now looking to appoint an experienced Senior Engineer ideally from a main contractor civil engineering/marine background to work on the Open Quays element of the project.

Purpose of the job

Assisting/Managing the construction of Open Quays: platforms and access to piling area, piling process with a temporary / permanent caissing, shore revetment (core material and rock armour), pile caps, precast manufacturing and placement, poring and rebar decks and capping beams, drainage and pipeline network on the Project.

Previous experience should include dredging, marine piling, construction of any of the following; cofferdam, caisson, Sea Terminal Berths, jetty’s, Lock Gates, harbours / ports, Quay/sea walls, breakwaters, RC concrete.

In this instance my client is looking for interested applicants who already live in the Aberdeen area (or commutable) and/or are willing to relocate on a permanent basis

Responsibilities:

Daily co-ordination with the general foremen

QA control – ITRs & ITPs (including sub-contractor co-ordination)

Technical queries

Set up lifting plans

Raising NCRs and ensuring any remedial work is carried out promptly

Ensuring RAMS documents are in place and adhered to

Monitoring programmes to track progress & ensuring as built information is completed and submitted

Material Approvals

Checking technical designs and drawings to ensure that they are followed correctly

Supervising contracted staff and sub-contractors

Ensuring works meet agreed specifications and timescales

Liaising with, subcontractors and other professional staff, especially quantity surveyors and the site manager

Providing technical advice and solving problems on site

Preparing site reports and filling in other paperwork

Ensuring that health and safety, sustainability policies and legislation are adhered to

Issuing of work permits

Progress reports

Any other duties required by Head of Section
The minimum qualification for this role will be; a HND qualification (or equivalent) in a civils or construction discipline, you must also be computer literate.

Infrastructure / Services Installation

HND Civil engineering

CSCS

SSSTS or SMSTS an advantage
