Our client is a leading consultant specialising in waste management, environmental, and health and safety solutions.
The now have a requirement for a Managing Director, ideally with knowledge of the Environmental sector, but this is not essential. The role will be based in the Glasgow/West of Scotland region.
The above is a result of the current Managing Director planning to set up an additional external business, and he is now looking for someone to take over his current MD role in order to drive the existing business from strength to strength.
He is currently ultimately responsible for all aspects of business, leading revenue streams, business development, and marketing.
For the successful individual, there will be at least a 6-month handover period with the current MD.
At present, the business has three core revenue streams:
- Training and assessment
- Consultancy
- Site services
Role
- Take over the position of Managing Director (Ideally Environmental Sector)
- Support and manage the existing team
- Develop growth strategy
- Assess if the company needs restructuring (e.g., split of training/assessment)
Ideal Candidate
- Experience managing a business that earns money by charging for time
- Experience managing technical/professional staff
- Knowledge of the environmental sector would be an advantage but is not essential
- A desire to grow their career, especially if they are not getting the chance to step up in their current role
- Willing to consider salary plus share options
The ultimate aim is to have a management team in place to run the company without the current MD.
