Our client, a dynamic firm of Chartered Accountants in Worcester, specialises in supporting small and medium-sized owner-managed businesses (OMBs). They are currently seeking an Accounts & Tax Manager to oversee a diverse client portfolio and ensure the accurate and timely completion of all compliance work.
Role Overview
This is a client-facing role ideal for an experienced professional with expertise in Accounts and Tax. You will manage a portfolio primarily comprising OMBs and SMEs, delivering high-quality service while supporting and mentoring junior staff where required.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs
- Prepare and review statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
- Complete personal and corporate tax returns accurately and on time
- Provide guidance and support to junior team members
- Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service delivery
- Identify opportunities for advisory work within the client portfolio
Candidate Requirements
- ACA/ACCA qualified preferred; AAT qualified or Qualified by Experience (QBE) considered
- Strong experience in a client-facing accounts and tax role
- Experience managing SMEs and owner-managed business clients
- Proficient in preparing personal and corporate tax returns
- Excellent organisational, communication, and client relationship skills
