An established and growing accountancy and tax advisory practice is seeking an experienced Personal Tax Senior Manager to join its Winnersh office. This is an excellent opportunity for a CTA-qualified tax professional looking to take ownership of a varied portfolio while delivering high-level personal tax advisory services to UK and international private clients. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with leadership skills, supporting both clients and junior team members while contributing to the continued growth of the tax function.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Tax Advisory
- International tax planning and advisory
- Foreign Income and Gains (FIG) regime advice for individuals moving to or recently arriving in the UK
- Temporary Repatriation Facility planning
- UK inbound and outbound tax planning, including the Statutory Residence Test
- Remittance Basis advice, including historic and current rules and interaction with the FIG regime
- Transfer of Assets Abroad legislation
- Inheritance Tax (IHT) planning
- Capital Gains Tax (CGT) planning and advisory services
- Profit extraction planning for owner-managed businesses and shareholders
- Personal Tax Compliance
- Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals, business owners, and complex personal tax clients
- Prepare and review complex Self-Assessment tax returns
- Review tax returns prepared by junior team members
- Review Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED) returns
- Review P11D and PSA submissions
- Ensure compliance deadlines are met while maintaining exceptional service standards
- Leadership & Practice Development
- Line manage and mentor two members of the tax team
- Manage work-in-progress (WIP), billing, and portfolio profitability
- Support business development initiatives and networking activities
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and risk management
- Stay current with tax legislation and technical developments
Requirements
- CTA Qualified
- Minimum 6 years' experience in Personal Tax
- At least 3 years' post-qualification experience
- Strong technical knowledge across UK personal tax, CGT, IHT, and international tax matters
- Experience managing complex personal tax portfolios
- Previous experience reviewing the work of junior team members
- Excellent client relationship and communication skills
Desirable
- Experience advising high-net-worth individuals and internationally mobile clients
- Business development and networking experience
- Previous team management experience
