Mixed Tax Supervisor / Assistant Manager

Location: Stratford

Our client is a highly regarded and well-established accountancy practice with ambitious growth plans and a strong reputation for technical excellence. Their tax team is expanding and looking for an experienced Mixed Tax Assistant Manager or Manager to join their busy and supportive office in Leytonstone.

You’ll be joining a collaborative team of over 20 tax professionals, including multiple partners and advisory specialists, giving you access to strong technical mentorship, exposure to complex client work, and genuine progression opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • As a Mixed Tax Assistant Manager / Manager, you’ll support the partners in delivering complex tax advisory projects to a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to work on a broad mix of corporate and personal tax advisory work, with full ownership of projects from initial scoping to delivery.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with tax partners on complex advisory projects, including restructures, share schemes, IHT planning, international issues, property transactions, EIS/SEIS, and corporate acquisitions or disposals.
  • Preparing detailed tax advice reports and correspondence.
  • Managing client relationships and delivering proactive tax advice.
  • Supporting corporate finance projects with tax input.
  • Overseeing and reviewing junior team members’ work.
  • Conducting performance reviews and contributing to departmental growth.
  • Responding to HMRC technical queries and enquiries.

About You

  • Strong experience in both corporate and personal tax, ideally within a top 100 accountancy firm.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax concepts into client-friendly advice.
  • Commercial awareness and a client-centric mindset.
  • Confident user of Microsoft Word and Excel.
