Clark Wood are currently working with a well‑established and highly regarded accountancy and tax advisory practice that is looking to recruit an Accounts Manager to join their growing team in Thame. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward‑thinking firm that specialises in providing expert solutions to entrepreneurial businesses and private clients, with particular expertise in the farming, agricultural, landed estates and private client sectors.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing and reviewing a varied portfolio of accounts assignments, ensuring high‑quality delivery across all aspects of statutory accounts preparation. The role will involve overseeing workflow, managing deadlines, and ensuring resources are effectively allocated to meet client requirements. In addition, you will review statutory accounts prepared under FRS102, FRS102 1A and FRS105, liaise directly with Partners to resolve technical queries, and ensure that key issues are clearly communicated for client delivery. You will also manage corporation tax computations and returns, and maintain strong client relationships throughout the accounts process.

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with strong post‑qualification experience gained within a medium or large practice environment. Experience in UK GAAP financial reporting and exposure to agricultural or rural sector clients would be highly advantageous. Duties & Responsibilities
  • Managing accounts workflow and overseeing delivery of all accounts assignments
  • Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under FRS102, FRS102 1A and FRS105
  • Managing and allocating incoming accounts jobs to ensure deadlines are met
  • Liaising directly with Partners to resolve technical issues and queries
  • Communicating exceptions and key points for client delivery
  • Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations and returns
  • Ensuring appropriate resources are allocated across the team
  • Liaising with clients to obtain required documentation and ensure smooth delivery
  • Managing a portfolio of accounts assignments
  • Ensuring high standards of accuracy, compliance and quality control
  • Supporting continuous improvement in accounts processes and workflow efficiency
Skills
  • ACA or ACCA qualified
  • Minimum 3 years’ post‑qualified experience in a medium or large practice
  • Strong experience in statutory accounts preparation and review
  • Knowledge of UK GAAP including FRS102, FRS102 1A and FRS105
  • Corporation tax computation experience
  • Experience working with agricultural or rural sector clients (desirable)
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills
  • Excellent organisational and workflow management abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Confident using accounting software and Microsoft Excel
