Due to continued growth in their Swindon office, our client is seeking an Audit and Accounts Senior to support Partners and Managers in delivering statutory audit and accounts preparation services. The role is split evenly between audit and accounts work, covering both the Charity/Not-for-Profit and commercial sectors. Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver audit and accounts assignments for Charities, Not-for-Profit organisations, Limited Companies (including groups), Sole Traders, and Partnerships, using both balanced and incomplete records.
- Prepare draft corporation tax and business tax computations, including supporting analysis.
- Plan audit assignments, including budgeting and analytical review.
- Lead audit engagements and assist on complex assignments.
- Supervise, delegate, and review work of junior team members.
- Communicate effectively with clients and provide timely, professional advice.
- Support Partners and Managers on ad-hoc projects as required.
Skills and Experience
- ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified with at least 3 years’ practice experience (qualification by experience considered).
- Experience in the Charity/Not-for-Profit sector, or a strong interest in developing expertise in this area.
- Strong technical knowledge of Financial Reporting Standards and International Standards for Auditing.
- Experience leading or assisting audits, including planning, preparation, and completion (training provided if needed).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong analytical and attention-to-detail abilities.
- Commercial awareness and strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience with bookkeeping software, including cloud-based platforms such as Sage, QuickBooks, or Xero.
- Experience using IRIS and MyWorkPapers is advantageous but not essential.
