We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Stockport who are looking to appoint an experienced Accounts and Business Advisory Senior Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant who enjoys managing client relationships, developing junior team members, and playing an active role in the growth of the business.
The Role
- You’ll manage your own portfolio of clients while supporting the day‑to‑day running of your section, contributing to workflow planning, and ensuring exceptional service delivery across a varied client base.
- You’ll work closely with Directors and Partners while also having the autonomy to take ownership of client relationships and identify opportunities to support the wider Group’s growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own portfolio of clients with a high level of responsibility
- Oversee and support team portfolios
- Assist with workflow management across the team
- Deliver all aspects of client service, with Partner/Director support on specialist technical matters
- Build and maintain strong, long‑term client relationships
- Identify opportunities for additional services and growth across the Group
- Provide proactive support to clients while reducing day‑to‑day Partner involvement
- Take responsibility for delivering high‑quality advice and service
- Support, coach, and mentor junior team members
- Work collaboratively while also being confident operating autonomously
- Contribute to revenue and profitability targets
About You
- ACA / ACCA / CA qualified (or equivalent)
- Previous experience managing a client portfolio within an accountancy practice
- Experience working with clients across a range of industries
- Strong communication and relationship management skills
- Experience coaching and mentoring junior staff
- Commercially aware with a proactive mindset
