Salary: Competitive (circa £25,000 - £32,000, dependent on experience) + Excellent Benefits

Hybrid working pattern: three days per week in the Hertfordshire office, with occasional attendance at a London office as required.

Role Responsibilities

  • Assisting with preparation and filing of personal tax returns
  • Supporting senior colleagues with client portfolio work and day-to-day compliance matters
  • Dealing with basic Capital Gains Tax issues and HMRC queries
  • Liaising with clients, banks and other third parties
  • Attending client meetings and taking notes/actions as needed
  • Data gathering and producing internal management information
  • Supporting proposals, billing activity and WIP review
  • Undertaking tax research for Managers / Partners

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous personal tax / private client experience in a UK practice environment is essential
  • ATT qualified is beneficial but not essential
  • Familiarity with tax software and the preparation of basic computations/returns
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and professional client manner
  • Organised, proactive and able to manage workload effectively
  • A team player with enthusiasm and a desire to develop in Private Client Tax
