Qualified Accountant – Ross-on-Wye
Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Ross-on-Wye who are seeking a qualified accountant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to achieve a genuine work‑life balance within a relaxed and friendly working environment. Working closely alongside the Director, the successful candidate will play a key role in delivering accounting and taxation services to a diverse portfolio of clients.
Responsibilities
- Preparation and review of Statutory Accounts
- Preparation and review of Self Assessment Tax Returns
- Corporation Tax compliance
- Payroll processing and review
- Preparation and submission of VAT Returns
- Reviewing work completed by other members of staff and providing guidance where required
- Supporting clients via email, telephone, and face‑to‑face meetings

While hybrid working is available, the successful candidate will be required to spend part of their time working from the firm's Ross-on-Wye office. The role would be particularly well suited to candidates based within Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, or Monmouthshire.
Requirements
- ACCA, ACA or AAT qualified
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of Excel and cloud‑based accounting softwareAbility to work independently with minimal supervision
- Experience reviewing the work of colleagues and providing technical support where required
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing directly with clients
