They are looking to recruit a Personal Tax Senior to join their growing Personal Tax team. This is an exciting opportunity for a personal tax professional to step into a role with strong technical exposure, high-quality private client work, and clear development opportunities within a supportive team environment.
As a Personal Tax Senior, you will:
- Actively manage a portfolio of personal tax compliance clients to meet filing deadlines
- Prepare self-assessment tax returns to a high-quality standard
- Review work completed by junior team members and provide constructive feedback
- Support the training and development of junior staff
- Attend meetings with new and existing clients, maintaining excellent working relationships
- Identify advisory opportunities including share schemes, IHT and CGT planning, and referrals into the wider firm
- Liaise with the corporation tax compliance team to obtain information required for self-assessment returns
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of P11Ds, tax credits, tax codes, pension relief, gift aid relief claims, and HMRC compliance matters
- Prepare self-employed accounts and property income schedules where required
Technical Exposure
You will gain exposure to areas including:
- High-net-worth private client personal tax compliance
- Advisory-led personal tax work (CGT, IHT, share schemes and planning)
- Complex private client scenarios and HMRC interaction
- Review and mentoring responsibility
- Process improvement and service development initiatives
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- ATT and/or CTA part-qualified or qualified
- Strong experience within a UK private practice / accountancy firm environment
- Good technical grounding in personal tax
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior staff
- Strong client-facing and relationship management skills
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Strong written communication and attention to detail
