Clark Wood is currently working with a growing and ambitious independent firm of chartered accountants who are seeking to recruit an experienced Accounts Senior or Accounts Manager for their Downham Market office. Following a recent period of expansion, the firm is well-positioned for continued growth, offering an excellent opportunity for a driven and client-focused individual to play a key role in its ongoing success.
This role may suit a recently qualified or post qualified professional; however, demonstrable experience within a similar client-facing position in practice is essential. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a progressive and highly regarded firm where you will work closely with the Directors, managing a diverse portfolio of clients including small to medium-sized limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships across a wide range of sectors.
You will act as the primary point of contact for your clients, ensuring a high standard of service is delivered at all times. In addition to managing your own portfolio, you will oversee and support junior staff, reviewing their work and assisting with their development. The role will also provide exposure to business development activities, including meeting prospective clients and contributing to the firm’s continued growth.

Key Responsibilities- Managing a varied portfolio of clients across multiple sectors
- Preparation and review of statutory accounts and management accounts
- Preparation and review of tax computations and returns
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, handling queries and providing advice
- Supporting partners with ad hoc projects and bespoke assignments
- Managing workload, billing, and ensuring deadlines are met
- Reviewing work prepared by junior staff and providing guidance and mentorship
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)
- Strong general practice background
- Proven experience in a client management role
- Experience reviewing and supervising junior staff
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
