A highly regarded boutique US/UK tax advisory firm is looking to appoint an US / UK Private Client Tax Assistant Manager / Manager to join its growing London team. This is an outstanding opportunity to join one of the UK's leading specialist US/UK private client tax practices. The firm advises high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, private equity executives and internationally mobile clients, with a particular specialism in assisting US persons living in the UK. With a team of around 10 specialists, the firm offers the technical quality and client base of a much larger practice whilst maintaining the collaborative, supportive culture of a boutique firm. You'll work closely with highly experienced Partners and tax professionals, gaining exposure to complex cross‑border advisory work alongside a varied portfolio of UK and US compliance clients.
Responsibilities
- Managing a portfolio of US and UK private clients, ensuring all compliance obligations are completed accurately and on time.
- Preparing and reviewing UK Self Assessment and US Federal tax returns.
- Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team and providing ongoing coaching and technical support.
- Advising clients on UK and US tax matters affecting internationally mobile individuals.
- Identifying tax planning opportunities and supporting Partners on advisory assignments.
- Liaising directly with clients, HMRC and the IRS.
- Monitoring budgets and managing the financial performance of client engagements.
- Identifying business development opportunities and contributing to the continued growth of the firm.
About You
- 4-6+ years' experience within US/UK Private Client Tax.
- Experience managing a portfolio of HNWIs, entrepreneurs, private equity executives or internationally mobile clients.
- ATT and Enrolled Agent (EA) qualified, or equivalent experience.
- CTA or CPA would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Experience using CCH Axcess or CCH ProSystem would be beneficial.
- Strong technical knowledge across UK and US private client tax.
- Previous experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
- Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
