Accounts Senior – Droitwich, Worcestershire £35,000 - £45,000 + Excellent Benefits Independent Accountancy Practice | Statutory Accounts | Tax Compliance | SME Client Portfolio Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounts Senior to join a well-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Droitwich, Worcestershire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Accounts Senior, Senior Accountant, Accounts Assistant Manager or experienced Accounts Semi Senior looking to develop their career within a respected accountancy practice.

The successful candidate will work with a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses (OMBs), SMEs, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, providing accounts preparation, tax compliance and management accounting services.

The Role

As an Accounts Senior, you will be responsible for

  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Completing accounts preparation work from client records through to final submission.
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and supporting wider tax compliance services.
  • Assisting with personal tax return preparation where required.
  • Producing monthly and quarterly management accounts for clients.
  • Reviewing bookkeeping records and working with client accounting systems including IRIS and Xero.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, handling queries and providing day-to-day accounting advice.
  • Ensuring accounts and tax deadlines are managed effectively.
  • Maintaining accurate working papers and delivering high-quality client service.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the accounts team.

About You

The successful candidate will ideally have

  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong experience preparing year-end accounts for SMEs, sole traders and partnerships.
  • AAT qualified, ACA / ACCA part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
  • Good knowledge of UK accounting standards, accounts preparation and tax compliance.
  • Experience using accountancy software such as IRIS, Xero or similar cloud platforms.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients.
  • A proactive approach and the ability to manage deadlines effectively.
