Clark Wood have been instructed on an exceptionally rare opportunity, which offers the chance for an experienced and driven individual to join one of the region’s most highly regarding tax teams as a Mixed Tax Director where you’ll be based out of the York office.
You’ll undertake a varied role and as a Mixed Tax Director, you’ll play an integral role in the continued development of the firm’s tax offering, whilst maintaining and growing a significant and diverse client portfolio.
The position will see you having involvement in a wide variety of corporate, personal, and advisory tax areas.

Joining the York office, you’ll have responsibility for a diverse client portfolio as well as having responsibility for training and mentoring members of the team, assisting in their development and providing guidance and training as necessary.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Advise clients on a wide variety of personal, corporate, and advisory tax issues.
Undertake corporation tax compliance including reviewing and finalising draft tax computations produced by the audit and accounts team and raising queries internally and externally with clients.
Allocate and manage assignments to team members.
Review team members work.
Assist the partner with a variety of tax projects including, but not limited to, R&D claims, corporate restructuring work, and inheritance tax planning work.
Provide guidance, training, and support to both tax colleagues and wider team members on a variety of tax issues.
Organise and deliver tax training sessions for the whole firm on a variety of tax issues.
Research technical tax matters for the partners.
Attend internal team audit meetings, acting as a liaison to share relevant information.
Attend pre- and post-year-end planning meetings for relevant clients as requested.
Be proactive and participate in team meetings, sharing knowledge and ideas.
Attend client meetings and external events where appropriate.
Attend networking events with solicitors, banks and other referrers.
Skills:
CTA / ACA Qualified
Relevant experience of providing tax advisory services
Proven track record of Business Development
Client and staff management experience
Experience within a Senior Manager/ Director level role
