My client is a highly regarded boutique US/UK tax services firm based in Pall Mall, London, specialising in supporting Americans living in the UK. The firm is one of the few in the market able to provide specialist cross-border tax compliance and wealth planning services to a high-end private client base.
They are looking to recruit a US & UK Assistant Tax Manager to join their growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for a cross-border private client tax professional to step into a role with meaningful client ownership, strong technical exposure, and clear development opportunities within a specialist boutique environment.
The Role
As US & UK Assistant Tax Manager, you will:
- Actively manage a portfolio of clients to ensure US & UK personal tax compliance requirements are completed timely and accurately
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and identify opportunities for business development
- Review tax returns and technical work completed by junior team members
- Identify potential risks and technical matters and communicate these clearly to senior colleagues
- Manage engagement finance, including monitoring budgets and ensuring work is delivered efficiently
Technical Exposure
You will gain exposure to areas including:
- US/UK personal tax compliance (dual filing requirements)
- High-net-worth cross-border private client matters
- Complex client scenarios involving internationally mobile individuals
- Advisory-driven interaction alongside compliance work
- Portfolio management in a specialist boutique environment
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- 4+ years' tax experience in US/UK Private Client Tax
- Experience dealing with High-Net-Worth individuals, private equity executives, and business owner clients
- ATT qualified and Enrolled Agent (EA) qualified
- Familiarity with CCH Axcess and/or CCH ProSystem for US tax return preparation
- Ability to proactively manage and develop their client portfolio while working closely with senior and junior members of the team
- Strong IT competency and familiarity with Microsoft packages
- Excellent organisation skills, ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a close-knit team
