Role Overview

We are looking to add a Personal Tax Senior/Assistant Manager or Manager at a leading boutique firm of chartered accountants. The role involves managing a portfolio of personal tax clients—including HNWIs, company directors and sole traders—and ensuring all compliance work is completed accurately and efficiently through the preparation and review of personal tax computations and returns. In addition to the day‑to‑day compliance work, the successful candidate will provide tax planning advice and support an 80% compliance / 20% advisory mix, with genuine scope for career development.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as the main point of contact
  • Preparation and review of personal tax returns
  • Providing guidance, training and support to junior staff
  • Identifying tax planning opportunities for individuals and trusts
  • Assisting partners with tax consulting work relevant to HNWI and trusts when required

Qualifications

  • ATT or ACCA qualified; ACA or CTA qualified is preferable; candidates may be studying for CTA
  • Strong personal tax experience within a practice environment
  • Excellent communication and client‑handling skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and deliver high‑quality work across a varied caseload
