This firm supports the SME market with a full service offering including Audit, Accounts & Advisory, Tax, Payroll, Corporate Finance and Business Recovery. The role focuses on UK employment tax matters including PAYE, NIC, benefits-in-kind and off-payroll working (IR35), with the opportunity to gain exposure to international employment tax / global mobility projects.
Role Responsibilities
- Managing employment tax compliance work including PAYE health checks, P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreements
- Supporting compliance aspects of CIS where required
- Drafting advisory emails/reports on employment tax matters including employment status, IR35, termination payments and benefits structuring
- Supporting senior stakeholders with strategic advice to clients including identification of risk and planning opportunities
- Opportunity to assist with international employment tax / global mobility projects (expatriate compliance / cross-border planning)
- Keeping up-to-date with UK employment tax legislation and HMRC guidance and sharing insights internally and with clients
- Supporting client meetings, presentations and training sessions
- Assisting with business development including proposals and opportunity spotting within the client base
- Coaching junior staff and maintaining quality and delivery standards
The Ideal Candidate
- Strong employment tax experience gained within a UK practice environment
- ATT qualified (or equivalent)
- Experience dealing with HMRC and client correspondence
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to analyse and manipulate data
- Payroll processing exposure is beneficial but not essential
- Expatriate / global mobility exposure is advantageous but not essential
- Organised, proactive and able to take ownership of tasks through to completion
