Accounts Manager - Surrey
Clark Wood are currently working with a highly regarded and well-established firm of accountants who are looking to recruit an Accounts Manager to join their growing Business Services team in Surrey.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to take the next step in their career, taking on greater responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients while supervising and developing junior members of the team.
The successful candidate will work with an interesting and diverse client base across sectors including technology, luxury retail, motorsport, performance engineering, arts and antiquities, as well as a range of UK and international businesses.
The Role
- Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and management accounts for UK and multinational companies
- Managing UK financial reporting for limited companies, LLPs, partnerships and sole traders
- Reviewing monthly, quarterly and annual VAT returns and providing advice on VAT and PAYE matters
- Supporting start-ups with their accounting and financial requirements
- Assisting with the implementation of accounting and computerised financial systems
- Managing client relationships and providing advice across a range of business matters
- Delegating work to junior members of the team and reviewing completed work
- Training, mentoring and supporting the development of junior staff
- Ensuring work is completed accurately and within agreed deadlines
The Candidate
Ideally, you will have:
- An ACA or ACCA qualification, or equivalent
- Strong experience in both statutory accounts and management accounts within an accountancy practice
- Experience reviewing accounts and the work of junior members of staff
- Good knowledge of VAT and general business accounting matters
- Strong client management and communication skills
- The ability to delegate work effectively and support the development of junior staff
- Excellent organisational and IT skills
- A professional and proactive approach to client service
