Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accounts Technician to join a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Huntingdon. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified, ACA / ACCA part-qualified or experienced practice accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and growing firm.
Working with a varied portfolio of SMEs, limited companies, partnerships and sole traders, you will play a key role in delivering accounts, VAT and bookkeeping services while developing strong client relationships.
The Role:
- Preparing statutory year-end accounts for a portfolio of clients including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns in line with HMRC and Making Tax Digital requirements.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, supporting with accounting and bookkeeping queries.
- Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance where required.
- Assisting with management accounts, budgeting and forecasting assignments.
- Working with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
- Managing deadlines and ensuring a high level of client service is maintained.
- Supporting Managers and Partners with client delivery and advisory opportunities.
About You:
- AAT Level 4 qualification, ACA / ACCA part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience.
- Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and bookkeeping.
- Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
- Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- Ability to manage multiple client deadlines in a structured and organised manner.
