Public Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a well-established and highly reputable independent firm of chartered accountants in Harrow who are looking to recruit an Accounts & Audit Senior to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained candidate to join a supportive and forward-thinking firm with a varied client base including OMBs, SMEs and groups. The role will be split between accounts preparation and audit work and offers genuine long-term progression.
As an Accounts & Audit Senior, you will be responsible for supporting a portfolio of clients, preparing accounts and leading audit assignments from planning through to completion. You will also support the development of junior team members, working closely with Managers and Partners.
Role Responsibilities
- Preparing statutory accounts for a varied client portfolio
- Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
- Preparing and reviewing audit files and supporting audit completion work
- Supporting and supervising junior staff, reviewing work and providing guidance
- Liaising directly with clients, developing strong working relationships
- Identifying issues and escalating technical matters to Managers/Partners
- Ensuring work is delivered to deadlines and within budget
The Ideal Candidate
- ACA / ACCA Qualified or Part-Qualified
- Strong practice background with recent accounts and audit experience
- Experience leading audit assignments and supervising junior staff
- Strong communication skills and confident client-facing manner
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
