Clark Wood are currently working with a growing accountancy practice group who are looking to recruit an Accounts & Audit Senior to join their expanding team in Eastleigh.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a modern and forward-thinking firm that provides expert audit, accountancy and advisory services.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a varied portfolio of audit and accounts assignments, working closely with Managers and Partners to deliver both statutory audit and financial reporting work.

The role will involve planning and leading audits, preparing statutory accounts for limited companies, and ensuring assignments are completed accurately, on time, and within agreed budgets.

In addition, you will supervise and support junior team members across both audit and accounts work, reviewing their output and providing on-the-job training and technical guidance.

You will also prepare corporation tax computations, liaise directly with clients, and contribute to the smooth delivery of assignments across a varied client base.

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified or nearly qualified, with strong experience across both audit and accounts within a UK practice environment.

Excellent technical knowledge, strong organisational skills, and the ability to manage client relationships and competing deadlines will be essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leading and assisting on statutory audit assignments across a range of sectors
  • Preparing audit files, planning audits, and managing fieldwork
  • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies and other entities
  • Supervising and reviewing the work of junior team members
  • Supporting audit and accounts work allocation across engagements
  • Ensuring assignments are delivered within deadlines and budgets
  • Preparing corporation tax computations and supporting tax analysis
  • Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
  • Using accounting software to support audit and accounts reporting
  • Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge of accounting and auditing standards
  • Supporting trainees through on-the-job training and development
  • Ensuring high standards of accuracy, compliance and quality control across all work

Skills

  • ACA / ACCA qualified or nearly qualified
  • Strong UK practice experience across both audit and accounts
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts for limited companies
  • Strong audit experience including planning and fieldwork
  • Knowledge of corporation tax computations
  • Experience using systems such as Caseware, CCH, Xero or Sage (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities effectively
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff Proactive, organised and team-oriented approach
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Excel
