We are currently supporting a well-established firm of chartered accountants in their search for an Accounts Senior to join their Dumfries office and wider Business Services Service Line. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified accountant to take on a varied role within a dynamic team, working across a broad range of clients in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing draft financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and companies, ready for review by a Business Services Assistant Manager / Manager
  • Drafting business tax computations for review
  • Preparing VAT returns, bookkeeping assignments, and management accounts
  • Assisting with filing financial statements and corporate tax returns
  • Raising queries as appropriate to the Business Services Assistant Manager / Manager

Candidate Requirements

  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence
  • Are AAT, ICAS, ACCA, or ACA qualified, or “Qualified by Experience”
  • Have experience working in an accounting role within a practice and are comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Are a dedicated team player willing to support colleagues
  • Can prioritise workloads under strict deadlines and work well under pressure
  • Have strong initiative, organisational, and problem‑solving skills
  • Are keen to be part of a dynamic team
