Clark Wood is working with a leading Top 20 UK accountancy and advisory firm that is looking to recruit a Corporate Tax Senior into its growing Poole team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Corporate Tax professional who wants to move beyond a predominantly compliance-focused role and develop significantly more exposure to advisory and specialist tax work.
You’ll work with a diverse portfolio ranging from entrepreneurial owner-managed businesses through to larger corporate groups across a variety of sectors.
Alongside mainstream Corporate Tax compliance, you’ll have the opportunity to develop specialist experience across areas including transactions, corporate restructuring, share schemes, R&D tax relief, capital allowances and complex Corporate Tax advisory work.

The Role
- Prepare corporation tax computations and returns for a varied portfolio of corporate clients
- Support Managers and senior colleagues on complex Corporate Tax assignments
- Assist with advisory projects including transactions, tax due diligence and corporate restructuring
- Gain exposure to capital allowances and R&D tax relief claims
- Develop specialist experience across share schemes and complex Corporate Tax matters
- Undertake technical tax research and contribute to wider client projects
- Manage assignments against agreed deadlines, budgets and quality standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients
- Liaise with HMRC and other professional advisers
- Work alongside audit colleagues on annual Corporate Tax compliance assignments
- Coach and support junior members of the tax team
- Contribute to business development and wider team initiatives
- The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience working within UK Corporate Tax
- Experience gained within an accountancy practice or professional services environment
- ATT, CTA, ACA and/or equivalent qualifications, or be working towards qualification
- Strong Corporate Tax compliance knowledge
- An interest in developing greater exposure to advisory work
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good commercial awareness
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- A proactive and professional approach
Experience using Alphatax would be advantageous but is not essential.
