Our client, a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants and Financial Planners in Cheltenham, is recruiting for an experienced Paraplanner to join their growing Financial Planning team. This opportunity is suitable for both Paraplanners and Senior Paraplanners, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will provide a high-quality, client-focused paraplanning service, supporting Consultants with technical advice, suitability reporting and financial planning research. This role offers exposure to complex planning work and, at Senior level, the opportunity to mentor junior team members and influence best practice across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
- Produce clear, accurate and compliant suitability reports within agreed deadlines
- Review client files to gain a detailed understanding of client objectives, needs and circumstances
- Identify and discuss key financial planning issues with the Consultant prior to report drafting
- Analyse and evaluate existing investments, pensions and financial arrangements
- Interpret risk profiling and attitude to risk and assess suitability of advice provided
Additional Responsibilities (Senior Paraplanner Level):
- Review and quality-check suitability reports produced by other Paraplanners
- Check and validate complex technical calculations
- Mentor and support Trainee and Junior Paraplanners
- Assist with complex cashflow modelling and advanced financial planning cases
- Contribute to business-wide projects to improve efficiency, advice quality and client outcomes
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Diploma qualified (or equivalent)
- Previous experience within an IFA / Financial Planning environment
- Proven experience writing technical suitability reports
- Strong working knowledge of research tools such as Financial Express Analytics and Iress The Exchange
Desirable:
- Chartered status or working towards Chartered
- Minimum of three years’ experience in a technical Paraplanner role
- Experience mentoring or supervising Paraplanners
- Strong presentation, communication and stakeholder-management skills
