Clark Wood are currently working with a well-established and rapidly expanding firm of chartered accountants in Cheltenham who are seeking an experienced and confident Senior Accountant / Portfolio Manager to join their growing Accounting & Business Support team. This respected firm has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality accounting, tax, and advisory services to a broad portfolio of clients, including limited companies, LLPs, sole traders, partnerships, pension schemes, and charities.

In this role, you will manage a diverse client portfolio and take responsibility for preparing year-end accounts in accordance with FRS 102 and Charity SORP (charity experience advantageous but not essential). You will draft corporation tax returns, personal tax computations, and self-assessment returns, as well as finalising reporting packs and ensuring that work is completed to a high technical standard.

You will play a key role in reviewing the work of junior and senior team members, resolving technical queries, and providing day-to-day support, mentoring, and on-the-job training to help develop the team. The role offers extensive client interaction and the opportunity to work closely with managers and partners, providing a blend of technical responsibility and meaningful client exposure.

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified (or QBE), with strong experience across accounts preparation and both corporate and personal tax within a practice environment. You will be organised, proactive, and confident managing your own workload while contributing effectively within a collaborative team.

Experience with CCH Accounts & Tax, Xero, Sage 50, Sage Business Cloud, and Microsoft Office would be advantageous.
