As an Accounts Senior you will join the Accounts & Tax team and take ownership of a portfolio of clients, handling compliance work (accounts, tax returns) and working alongside the team on advisory/forward-looking work. The role offers a varied workload across limited companies, partnerships, and sole-traders, with opportunities to develop technically and work in a flexible/hybrid way.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare year-end statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders under UK GAAP / FRS 102.
- Review work of more junior team members (assistants/semi-seniors) to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Prepare corporation tax computations & CT600 filings; assist with personal tax returns (SA100) where required.
- Liaise with clients: gather information, understand their business, discuss draft accounts, and respond to queries.
- Participate in planning and budget discussions for assigned clients.
- Support the Partner/Senior Manager with technical queries and research, liaising with external auditors or tax advisors where needed.
- Contribute to process improvement, ensuring efficient workflows and use of accounting software.
- Work in a hybrid structure: regular days in the Bridgend office to collaborate with the team and meet clients, combined with remote working days for focused tasks.
- ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified (or equivalent experience) within practice environment.
- Proven experience in a public practice accounting firm working with accounts and tax (minimum ~3-5 years desirable).
- Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS102 and corporate tax compliance.
- Proficiency in preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
- Good communication skills – able to liaise with clients and build strong relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to review others’ work, maintain quality, and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and able to self-manage remote working days.
- Proficient with accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset.
