A leading accountancy practice in Middlesbrough is looking to recruit an experienced Audit Senior to join their growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA or ACCA qualified professional who enjoys working with a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs and is looking to take the next step in their audit career.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality audit assignments, managing client relationships and supporting the development of junior team members, while working closely with experienced Managers, Senior Managers and Partners.

Responsibilities

  • Managing statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion.
  • Leading audit teams on‑site and ensuring assignments are completed effectively and within agreed deadlines.
  • Working with a varied portfolio of owner‑managed businesses, SMEs and corporate clients.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and providing support with audit queries.
  • Reviewing the work of junior members of the team and providing coaching, feedback and guidance.
  • Travelling to client sites across the North East and Yorkshire when required.

The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with strong audit experience gained within an accountancy practice environment.

You will have

  • ACA or ACCA qualification.
  • Previous experience delivering and leading statutory audit assignments.
  • Experience working with owner‑managed businesses and SME clients.
  • Strong technical audit knowledge and the ability to manage assignments independently.
