Clark Wood are working with a well-established independent accountancy firm in Saffron Walden that is looking to appoint a Mixed Tax Senior / Manager to join their close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a hands‑on, partner‑led environment where you will manage a varied portfolio and play a key role across compliance and advisory work, with particular involvement in trusts and share schemes.
The Role
- You will manage a mixed portfolio of personal, corporate and trust clients, overseeing compliance while supporting partners on a range of advisory assignments.
- Managing personal, corporate and partnership tax returns, including CT600s and self‑assessments.
- Liaising with HMRC and ensuring all filing deadlines are met.
- Preparing and reviewing SA900 trust returns, including IHT100 reporting, periodic and exit charge calculations.
- Advising trustees on distributions and inheritance tax implications and overseeing Trust Registration Service compliance.
- Managing annual ERS returns and supporting clients with EMI and other tax‑advantaged share schemes.
- Assisting with advisory work such as profit extraction, incorporations, restructures, CGT planning and succession/exit planning.
- Providing technical support internally and assisting with process improvements and business development.
The Candidate
- CTA, ATT or ACA/ACCA with strong tax experience will be considered.
- At least 2 years' UK practice tax experience.
- Experience with trust taxation and IHT.
- Knowledge of share scheme / ERS compliance.
