Personal Tax Manager

Newcastle-under-Lyme – Circa £52,000 - £60,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Accountancy Practice and Tax recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading firm of chartered accountants who are looking to add an experienced Personal Tax Manager to the team in their office in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

As a Personal Tax Manager you will form an integral part of the firm’s tax offering and will work closely with the Senior Managers. The position will be focused towards advisory and tax planning work (70% of the role) over compliance.

You will have responsibility for your own diverse client portfolio as well as overseeing Tax Seniors and Trainees within the team which will see you reviewing their work and providing support and guidance to them as necessary. You’ll play a key role in managing workflow, resources and team performance.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience of working in a solely tax focused role and will ideally be CTA Qualified (ACA, ACCA, and ATT Qualified will be considered).

Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact
  • Providing consultancy advice on a whole range of tax matters
  • Providing guidance, training and support to junior staff
  • Preparing and reviewing self-assessments, tax returns for individuals, partnerships and trusts and estates
  • Liaising with HMRC and other third parties to ensure the smooth handling of our clients’ tax affairs

Skills

  • CTA Qualified (ACCA / ACA Qualified will be considered)
  • Strong Personal Tax experience within a practice environment is essential
