A highly regarded professional services firm in Bristol is looking to appoint a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join its established and growing private client tax team. This role is ideal for an experienced personal tax professional who is ready to step up, take ownership of a client portfolio, and work with high-quality private clients in a supportive and technically strong environment.
The Role
Working closely with Managers, Senior Managers and Partners, you will play a key role in delivering personal tax services to a diverse and complex private client base. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, including HNW individuals, non-domiciled clients, trusts and family groups
- Reviewing personal tax returns and complex tax computations
- Acting as a primary point of contact for clients, providing clear and practical tax advice
- Supporting advisory work across residency and domicile, inheritance tax planning, trusts and wealth structuring
- Handling HMRC enquiries and correspondence
- Ensuring compliance work is delivered accurately and in line with risk procedures
- Reviewing and supporting the work of junior team members
- Building strong, long-term client relationships and identifying advisory opportunities
The Ideal Candidate
- ATT and/or CTA qualified (or actively studying towards CTA)
- Strong experience in personal/private client tax within a professional services environment
- Experience dealing with HNW individuals, trusts and complex personal tax matters
- Confident reviewer with excellent attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proactive, organised and motivated to progress to Manager level
