About the role
A well-established and highly reputable independent firm of chartered accountants is looking to add a Personal Tax Manager / Senior Manager to their expanding Tax team. The progressive firm has a strong regional presence and supports a varied client base ranging from entrepreneurs and privately owned businesses through to high net worth individuals and more complex private wealth structures. The firm is continuing to grow and offers excellent long‑term career prospects alongside flexible working.
Key responsibilities
- Take responsibility for a portfolio of personal tax clients, including HNW individuals, partnerships, medical professionals, and directors/shareholders of family‑run companies.
- Manage clients’ personal tax compliance affairs, acting as the key day‑to‑day contact, and provide advisory work on both your portfolio and ad‑hoc technical matters.
- Support the wider development of the Personal Tax team, including the supervision and mentoring of Tax Assistants and Tax Seniors, working closely with senior colleagues across the department.
- Provide exposure to areas such as Inheritance Tax planning, trusts, estate planning, and residence/domicile matters, depending on experience.
The role can be offered on either a full‑time or part‑time basis, with hybrid working available.
Qualifications & Experience
- Demonstrable experience within a UK Accountancy Practice environment, with strong exposure to personal tax compliance and a desire to develop or continue building advisory expertise.
- Experience with IHT and trusts (both compliance and advisory) is highly beneficial, while experience dealing with non‑UK domiciled individuals and estate planning matters would be advantageous.
- Candidates will ideally be CTA Qualified, although those qualified by experience will also be considered.
- The firm is open to appointing at either Manager or Senior Manager level, depending on the successful candidate’s experience.
