Clark Wood are currently working with a leading, fast‐growing and highly reputable accountancy practice in South Wales who are seeking an experienced and driven Personal Tax Manager to join their successful and expanding Private Client Tax team. In this role, you will take ownership of a substantial and diverse personal tax portfolio, overseeing the delivery of compliance work and providing high‐level technical advice on a range of complex matters. You will review detailed personal tax returns, manage client relationships, identify advisory opportunities, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the firm's exceptional quality standards. You will contribute to business development activities, attend networking events, prepare proposals, and support fee‐winning initiatives.
You will play a key leadership role within the team, supervising and mentoring junior staff, overseeing workflow planning, contributing to departmental training, and supporting the wider management group with elements of people management such as recruitment, holiday approvals, and performance monitoring. You will be a trusted adviser to clients while actively helping to drive efficiencies, championing new technologies, and supporting continuous process improvements across the department.
The ideal candidate will be ATT/CTA or ACA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience) with significant experience in personal tax within a practice environment. You will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent communication and relationship‐building skills, sound commercial awareness, and the ability to make informed decisions within your remit. You should be highly organised, detail‐focused, and able to manage a large and varied workload while supporting the development of your team.
