The Opportunity

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Mixed Tax Senior to join a well-established and growing independent accountancy firm based in Harrow. This is a broad and varied role offering exposure to personal tax, corporate tax, accounts, and international and group structures, working closely with Partners and a high-quality client base. This position is ideal for a tax professional looking to progress their career in a supportive environment with exposure to complex and interesting client work, including international clients and group companies.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, providing both compliance and advisory support across personal and corporate tax matters, alongside involvement in statutory accounts preparation. Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a portfolio of personal and corporate tax clients, ensuring compliance with HMRC deadlines and requirements
  • Preparing and reviewing Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals, directors, and high-net-worth clients
  • Preparing and reviewing Corporation Tax Returns for owner-managed businesses and group companies
  • Preparing statutory accounts for limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards
  • Supporting clients with international tax matters, including overseas income, non-resident issues, and cross-border considerations
  • Working on group company structures, including group reporting and tax compliance
  • Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries, provide advice, and maintain strong working relationships
  • Corresponding with HMRC on behalf of clients, including handling enquiries, amendments, and compliance matters
  • Supporting Partners and Managers on advisory and project work as required
  • Assisting with the review of junior staff work where appropriate

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • ATT qualified / ACA / ACCA / CTA part-qualified or qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong experience in mixed tax and accounts within an accountancy practice
  • Experience preparing both personal and corporate tax returns
  • Experience with statutory accounts preparation
  • Exposure to group structures and/or international clients is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills and ability to liaise directly with clients
  • Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines independently
