  • London | Newly Qualified ACA / CTA | OMB & Corporate Tax

A leading independent accountancy and advisory firm is looking to appoint a Corporate Tax Consultant to join its growing Business Tax team in London.

This is an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified ACA or ACA/CTA Corporate Tax professional looking to take greater ownership of their own portfolio while developing their advisory experience.

You’ll work with an interesting and varied client base ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups and owner-managed businesses through to larger private companies with international operations.

The role provides a strong grounding in Corporate Tax at newly qualified level, combining responsibility for a substantial compliance portfolio with exposure to planning and advisory projects alongside experienced Managers and Partners.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the Corporate Tax compliance requirements of a portfolio of approximately 150 companies and partnerships, while supporting Managers on more complex advisory and planning assignments.

Your responsibilities will include

  • Managing the tax compliance requirements of a portfolio of companies and partnerships.
  • Preparing Corporation Tax returns and computations for Manager review.
  • Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
  • Advising clients on Corporation Tax payments and relevant deadlines.
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed tax working paper files.
  • Liaising directly with HMRC regarding client tax matters.
  • Tagging and reviewing i XBRL accounts.
  • Preparing Non-Resident Landlord returns.
  • Preparing Annual Tax on Enveloped Dwellings (ATED) returns.
  • Preparing Employment-Related Securities (ERS) returns.
  • Supporting Managers with Corporate Tax planning and advisory assignments.
  • Undertaking technical tax research.
  • Assisting with more complex client matters as your experience develops.
  • Supporting and supervising junior members of the tax team.
  • The Ideal Candidate

You will ideally be newly ACA qualified or ACA/CTA qualified, with Corporate or Business Tax experience gained within an accountancy practice.

You’ll have experience preparing Corporation Tax computations and returns and should be comfortable communicating directly with clients and managing multiple deadlines.

Experience gained within a mid-tier, Top 50 or similarly sized accountancy firm would be particularly relevant.

You’ll be technically capable but, equally importantly, keen to move beyond pure compliance and continue developing your Corporate Tax advisory experience.

What's On Offer?

This is an excellent next step for someone who has recently completed their professional qualifications and wants to build a long-term career within Corporate Tax.

You’ll gain

  • Ownership of your own Corporate Tax portfolio
  • Exposure to approximately 150 companies and partnerships
  • OMB, private company and internationally active client exposure
  • Corporate Tax advisory and planning experience
  • Direct client responsibility
  • Close interaction with Managers and senior tax specialists
  • Experience supervising junior colleagues
  • Strong technical development
  • Hybrid and flexible working
  • Clear progression towards Assistant Manager and Manager

The position would particularly suit a newly qualified Corporate Tax professional looking for greater responsibility, broader technical exposure and a clear route forward following qualification.
