Clark Wood are working with a well-established and forward-thinking independent firm in Lancaster who are seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Assistant Manager or Manager to join their growing team. This is a key role within a reputable practice known for delivering high-quality tax and advisory services to a varied and loyal client base. As a Private Client Tax AM / Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the personal tax department while managing your own portfolio of clients, ranging from high-net-worth individuals through to entrepreneurs and professionals. You will be responsible for reviewing the team’s work, ensuring accuracy and compliance, and providing clear guidance and mentoring to junior colleagues as they progress in their own development.

Your role will involve preparing and reviewing a broad range of personal tax returns, advising clients on matters including capital gains tax, inheritance tax, residence and domicile, and identifying opportunities for tax planning and advisory work. You will build and maintain strong client relationships, offering proactive and practical advice while ensuring all deadlines and compliance requirements are met.

The successful candidate will be ATT qualified as a minimum, with CTA or equivalent experience preferred. You will have a solid background in personal tax, strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to organise and prioritise effectively.
